Job Description

A day in the life includes all areas of the recruiting life cycle, including pipeline building, sourcing, interviews, selections, and onboarding. Customer service will be key in driving internal customer satisfaction and enhancing the external candidate experience. You will be a trusted thought partner to leaders across Avista, diving deep to understand business needs and developing tailored recruitment strategies to fill operational roles. Our ideal candidate is an effective communicator who builds trusting relationships and is comfortable advocating for decisions that strengthen our talent pool. We look for someone that is organized, pays attention to details, and can independently build and execute a consistent, efficient process that brings all stakeholders along. Experience with labor relations is a plus! This position will frequently work with our leaders and employees within the skilled trades.
Lead the Full Hiring Process. Lead candidates through the recruitment process from initial conversations through offers. This includes ATS set up, sourcing plans, building out interview strategies, crafting offers, negotiations, and helping leadership close candidates.
Partner with hiring managers to deeply understand role requirements and define recruitment strategies.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state legislation/regulations, policies and procedures to prevent or minimize liability to the company.
Act as a brand ambassador by representing the company at career fairs, networking events, and other talent-facing opportunities.
Communicate effectively to keep key stakeholders engaged and help facilitate hiring decisions.
Create a best-in-class candidate experience that focuses on inclusive recruitment and hiring practices.
Administrator and super user of the recruiting and onboarding tools of the HR Information System (HRIS). This includes training other users, leading implementation projects for new/upgraded modules and troubleshooting.
Support OFCCP audits as necessary by coordinating efforts between the agency and the company’s attorney.
May lead strategic recruiting projects and process optimization efforts with support of leadership.
Requirements
Associate Recruiter
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, training, communications or related discipline or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Human Resources with an emphasis on recruiting.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Hands-on experience with recruiting software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) preferred.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to travel.
Recruiter requires all of the associate qualifications plus:
Minimum of three years' experience in Human Resources with an emphasis on recruiting.
A wide degree of creativity, near and long-term recruiting vision and business understanding is required.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Visio, Canva, and social media management.
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to engage with passive and non-traditional candidates to draw in specialized talent.
Previous experience with implementing non-traditional recruiting strategies and recruiting a broad range of positions including non-exempt, professional, craft workers in the utility industry preferred.
Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with an additional day determined by the employee and manager. Additional days will be required per business need.
