**Career Readiness Specialist - Grant University of South Carolina Upstate RTF00180PO24 Spartanburg, SC
The Career Readiness Specialist will recruit/certify/enroll/execute career readiness activities/work-based learning experiences/enroll in driver's education/act as case manager and enter information into the South Carolina Works Online Systems (SCWOS)/perform 12-month follow-up. Participants will be from Cherokee and Union counties.**
- Arranges and implements all Instructional Training (as listed in the grant), including Advanced Skills Training, Driver's Ed, etc. Documents all activities inSCWOSand maintains in participant file
- Develops, instructs, arranges and oversees career readiness activities to include resume, career exploration, mock interviews, labor market information, entrepreneurial training, WIN and other readiness competencies required by WIOA . Ensure all training documentation is in the participant files and audit requirements are fulfilled as described in the WIOA statement of work.
- Finds and secures business partners who will allow students to perform paid job internships, pre-apprenticeships, on-the-job training, jobs shadowing, etc. and arranges/implements steps to develop. Monitors work-based learning experiences and obtains feedback for business partner. Receives hours sheets from work-based learning partners and submits weekly to the director to enter for participant stipend. Maintains forms and checks stubs in participant file. Maintains the partner relationships.
- Does home visits and uses all forms of communication, including social media, to contact exited and/or absentee participants.
- Recruits and certifies participants. Includes completing enrollment application in SCWOS ; responsible for validation accuracy. Develops/maintains good working relations with AD ED for recruitment. Keeps accurate enrollment file and updates as needed.
- Meets contract specified caseload of enrollments, completions, terminations and employment goals.
- Assists participants in finding employment/entering post-secondary while performing a 12-month follow-up on each participant upon exit of the Program. Documents all follow-up activities inSCWOSand file.
- Transports participants to activities if determined is needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in Student Services or related field or bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience. Valid driver's license, good driving record, and successful background check are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Strongly prefer job development and teaching experience and knowledge of area businesses.
