Job Title: Nurse PractitionerJob Description

Plan, direct and evaluate resident and employee health care in long-term care settings. This role involves daily travel to various facilities, with regions varying based on scheduling needs. Examine and treat chronic and acute episodic wound-related illnesses, minor injuries, and accidents. Interpret diagnostic tests and recommend appropriate follow-up. Refer to and update physicians, write prescriptions, and perform bedside procedures associated with wound care. Work with the medical director in the care and treatment of residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Debridement of wounds by sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical methods at the place of patient visit.

• Application and management of topical wound care and associated wound management products.

• Direct and recommend associated services to improve wound healing outcomes.

• Educate patients and Primary Care Physicians on current wound management practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state.

• Current active, unrestricted state APRN license or ability to obtain prior to hire.

• Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.

• Current approval by the Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.

• Master’s degree in Nursing.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

Will be traveling to various skilled nursing facilities in Southern Illinois to provide wound care for those facilities. This role offers an excellent work/life balance with a Monday-Friday day schedule and no nights, weekends, or on-call duties. The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
