Position: Sr. Software Quality Engineer - Telecommute Opportunity

Develop and write test plans and scripts for tracing defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. Perform the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws; create and communicate test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications and revising as needed; perform testing of new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications; communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to Project Lead, and determining when issues need to be escalated to a higher level; create appropriate test scenarios based on software specification; design, create, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests; document detailed steps to reproduce defects; consult with development engineers and business analysts to resolve problems; attend status meetings and providing oral and written reports regarding work progress; take part in researching best practices, new tools, and technology; provide estimates of time and effort; create appropriate test data, and building and maintaining automated test suites; monitor test execution, collecting metrics, identifying coverage gaps, and applying needed corrections; maintain and administer test tools (Selenium, HP UFT, HP ALM, Rally); provide actionable analysis to help resolve performance issues; establish performance best practices, designing and executing a robust performance test strategy; use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function; actively participate in performance test execution and the development of performance testing artifacts, including performance test requirements, defect tracking and reporting, performance test plans, cases, scripts, reports, etc. for assigned projects; engage with the solution design teams to understand the technical aspects of any solution; understand those business parameters which could influence performance, e.g. data sizes, network bandwidth, scalability, etc.; and conduct post-test execution activities which require heavy analysis of the data and metrics produced during the test run, to identify and mitigate either test design flaws or application performance issues. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US.

This position requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience. Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) Gathering, documenting, and analyzing business/technical requirements for testing and automation; (2) Developing and demonstrating POCs and estimating efforts; (3) Designing, documenting, developing, customizing, and implementing various test automation frameworks for multiple automation tools; (4) Developing and executing automation scripts and reviewing test results; (5) Working in waterfall and Agile methodologies, DevOps model, implementing CI/CD pipeline using CI/CD and DevOps tools; (6) Managing STLC and defect lifecycle; and (7) Working with the following technologies/platforms: SAP ECC, SAP HANA/SAP Fiori, Sales Force or any other web application, AWS or any other cloud platform, UFT/QTP, QC/ALM, VBScript, Python, and Load Runner.
