Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting activities, including the day to day maintenance of an accurate general ledger as well as more complex activities associated with developing financial statements and reports.

\ Functional Responsibilities:\ \

- - Timely and accurate completion of the financial statements to include the income statement and balance sheet.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Ensure accuracy of the financial statements through general ledger and banking reconciliations.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Prepare General Ledger entries

{=html} <!-- --> - - Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual year end closes / cycles.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Assists with retirement administration (ESOP/401K) including annual audits.

{=html} <!-- --> - - Address accounting and financial questions and concerns by researching and interpreting data

{=html} <!-- --> - - Manage accounting discrepancies

{=html} <!-- --> - Understand the flow of financial information.

Assists with development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance workflow.

  • Advise direct and indirect staff regarding the handling of routine transactions.
  • Support with special projects and improvements.
  • Fully understand and follow Haumiller Standards and Procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with A/R and A/P functions

Project Management & Scheduling:

- - Keeps department head informed if deadlines cannot be met, or additional resources are needed.

{=html} <!-- --> - Administer and provide feedback for the improvement of various administrative duties, such as company checklists, company credit cards, and certificates of insurance.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline or equivalent experience\ Minimum 3 years experience performing financial and accounting responsibilities\ Previous experience and knowledge of Cost Accounting\ Experience with auditing\ Proficient in the use of MS Office
