Robert Half Procurement Specialist in Skokie, Illinois

Description We are providing an opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry, based in Skokie, Illinois. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and involves working closely with various departments and suppliers to optimize supplier validation processes and other vendor management tools.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the supplier validation process, which includes collecting, reviewing, and processing legal and financial documents

• Maintain the vendor database across multiple systems and tools to ensure all stakeholders have the most current and accurate vendor information

• Review gaps in vendors' validation requirements, determine viable options, and share recommendations with management

• Communicate professionally and accurately with internal stakeholders and business leaders of current and prospective vendors regarding validation and other vendor concerns

• Collaborate with Accounting, Production, Vendor Management, and Account teams to identify and present process improvement opportunities

• Conduct accurate and timely recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed

• Document and share key takeaways from interdepartmental meetings and ensure involved associates have completed their next steps

• Use ERP solutions and CRM systems for efficient management of procurement processes

• Apply problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously

• Use knowledge of Business, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Accounting to improve procurement processes. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in using 3M, Coupa, and CRM software.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions.

• Experience with About Time software.

• Understanding of budget processes and buying processes.

• Strong customer service skills and ability to handle inquiries.

• Ability to efficiently process invoices.

• Prior experience in the wholesale distribution industry.

• Knowledge of procurement strategies and best practices.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous.
