Chart Industries Proposal and Application Engineer in Singapore, Singapore
Sales and Business Development support.
Assist in the development of strategies to increase business levels in the area.
Support the Sales team before, during and after customer visits when required.
Proposal preparation.
Preparation of clear and definitive technical and commercial proposals in accordance with defined scopes of supply.
Co-ordinate the proposal process between Sales and various Howden Product Units and manage responses in line with the proposal schedule and customer requirements.
Identify all national and international codes and standards applicable to a specific project and ensure their utilisation to meet project requirements.
Review, in conjunction with various Howden Product Units, enquiry documents, technical specifications, Terms & Conditions and obtain clarifications where required to ensure that Howden standards and customer specifications are maintained or clearly commented.
Performance verification for specific items of equipment and interpretation of results into practical and reasonable mechanical details to ensure functional and cost effective solutions.
Evaluate competitive bids for equipment in order to provide cost effective solutions.
Attend Technical Clarification Meetings together with the Sales team at customers and sub-contractors to clarify any technical issues.
Maintain proposal documentation in line with company procedures and policy to ensure compliance with Howden standards and policies.
Act as a point of contact for client on technical issues and manage company/client relationship to ensure the highest level of service.
Ensure Company policies, procedures and norms are followed for all proposals activities to ensure the highest level of quality.
Ensure proposals are submitted by the agreed bid due date and submission of subsequent technical clarifications meets customer requirements and Howden standards and policies.
Manage the development, maintenance and improvement of proposal procedures, costing systems and tendering systems.
Sales and funnel management
Achieve sales budget and budgeted margins.
Support the Sales team on the up-keeping of sales and funnel management in CRM.
Support all required actions to increase the Hit Rate of opportunities.
Support the Sales team on funnel reviews.
Hand-over to order/contract team.
- Support the handover process of contract documentation to Regional and Product Unit, project manager and/or contracts department.
Skills and Knowledge.
Degree in Business, Engineering or related field with 5-8 years relevant technical sales experience.
Extensive experience of Compressor applications engineering.
Knowledge of process design techniques and interpretation of results into mechanical equipment details related to processes, compressors, auxiliary systems and peripherals.
Good technical knowledge and experience of Compressor sizing, thermodynamics, controls and other associated auxiliaries.
Working knowledge of international standards such as API 617/API 618/API 619/API 614 and basic knowledge of other API & ASME/ANSI standards.
Should have a strong general understanding of engineering sciences and be comfortable engaging in technical communication and decision-making.
Detailed understanding of rotating equipment, specifically on compressors, blowers, fans, steam turbines and heaters.
Relevant commercial business
Excellent verbal (presentation) and written communication skills in the English language
Good interpersonal and cultural assimilation skills.
High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
Computer literacy, with excellent knowledge on using all MS Office, CRM and other relevant applications
Excellent team player with the ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple customers
