Hilton Manager, Pre-Opening Category Management - Asia Pacific in Singapore, Singapore

Reporting to the Senior Director, Customer Engagement - Asia Pacific Hilton Supply Management (APAC HSM), the Manager, Pre-Opening Category Management - Asia Pacific is to negotiate, execute, and manage supplier partnerships for Hilton’s Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) and some Operating Equipment programs for Hilton-branded Hotels in Asia Pacific. You will provide critical expertise to all internal stakeholders on the rollout and maintenance of Hilton’s FF&E programs.

What will I be doing?

As the Manager, Pre-Opening Category Management - Asia Pacific, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Work independently in key areas of supplier management, product development, and program management for assigned commodities with oversight from the FF&E Sourcing Director.
  • Assist and manage, where possible, FF&E sourcing initiatives with little management oversight, including bidding, analysis, coordination of design reviews and award recommendations, and supplier relationship management.
  • Support product development through the review of shop drawings and working with design teams and suppliers on value engineering.
  • Evaluate and recommend suppliers for Hilton’s FF&E programs, including evaluating product quality, production capability, sales and support capabilities, and financial stability.
  • Establish FF&E and other category programs fit for purpose for incumbent brands in the region, our group procurement operation, and support new brand launches and rollouts across APAC.
  • To work closely with our Architecture, Design, & Construction team on prototypes, FFE requirements, and regional variations on suppliers and product design.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the categories assigned and provide insight and innovation to all internal Hilton departments, including developing Brand Standards.
  • Support Hilton’s responsible sourcing initiatives, particularly regarding supplier diversity and sustainability.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to define program expectations, program pricing, warranties, and inventory levels.
  • Monitor and manage suppliers for quality and cost, functioning as the primary point of contact for Quality Assurance (QA) issues.
  • Ensure on-time updates and data accuracy in Hilton’s operating systems, such as SmartSpend, intranet, eProcurement systems, and other in-house systems as needed.
  • Communicate with owners/procurement agents and our group procurement estate to introduce FF&E programs.

  • At least 3 years of project procurement/supplier (design, furniture, etc.) experience in FF&E-related industry
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relation-building skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and investors.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A great team player who Works with other team members and provides guidance on projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of business fundamentals.
  • Ability to organize shop drawings or catalog coordination.
  • Strong sense of urgency and customer service.
  • Be able to prioritize responsibilities when faced with multiple, fast-paced projects.
  • Knowledge of innovation and trends in the FF&E industry.
  • Experience in FF&E product development.
  • Run tenders from start to finish, including implementation and SRM.
  • The ability to speak Mandarin is preferred as most of the suppliers are China-based.
  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time.
