Manager, Business Planning & Strategy
This role is responsible for strategic planning and analytics to drive growth for the American Express Consumer, Commercial and Insurance business across Asia. This position reports to the Director of Asia Planning, Strategy and Business Transformation and will be supporting pivotal business decision making in the Executive Office of the Head of American Express International Card Services Asia.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Business Planning
Manage planning process for the Consumer, Commercial and Insurance business in Asia.
Drive management action plans to achieve margin improvement through revenue generation and cost containment initiatives.
Collaborate with Finance and Country Executive teams in Asia to manage investment optimization and operating expense budget to ensure investment efficiency.
Support agenda setting, presentation materials development and logistics management of regional summit and regular business updates to senior leadership team.
Metrics and Quality Tracking
Monitor macro environment, competitive landscape and industry trend that present potential opportunities or threats to the business.
Provide data insights and recommendations on growth opportunities.
Ensure on-going tracking of scorecard performance and key business metrics, and alert leadership team on challenges or opportunities.
Support Sales and Account Development Incentive Plan review and alignment to ensure adherence to international policy.
Operation, Communications and Project Management
Lead internal communication plan development and execution to ensure transparency and consistency in messaging across Asia markets.
Manage and operationalize multiple growth projects simultaneously with strong adherence to timelines and good engagement level with business/function leaders in the organization.
Coordinate with Market Business Planners in Asia to drive cross-market synergy.
Qualifications
University graduate with MBA or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Services industry with card business knowledge preferred
Strategic Planning and forecasting experience and ability to drive data insights
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills including project management
Highly motivated individual with demonstrated ability to drive results and work with ambiguity
Demonstrated high levels of personal accountability and flexibility to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Superior attention to detail
Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent written & oral communications skills
Experience leading others
Language: English, Cantonese & Mandarin due to need to liaise with Hong Kong market
