Unilever Automation and Controls Engineer in Sikeston, Missouri

Background & Purpose of the Job

The Controls and Automation Engineer will be responsible for supporting site production equipment, computer systems, software, hardware, and networks. Responsibilities will include troubleshooting, implementing changes, driving to root cause of issues, implementing new tools using digital solutions, and identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects. This includes supporting the maintenance and production teams with day-to-day and long-term solutions. This position touches everything from robotics to general automation, networking, and vision systems.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Leader of safety culture.

  • Active participation in Sikeston projects for supporting software, hardware, automation, and network upgrades.  

  • As a Controls and Automation Engineer you will work on PLC programming, Servos, VFD and hardware.   (This factory is 95% Rockwell Automation Based) In addition, the Controls and Automation Engineer will work with the Engineering and Focused Improvement Teams to implement new digital tools using SQL, DFOS, BuildApp , Power Apps and Power BI. 

  • Support all network upgrade activities in Sikeston. Attend weekly calls and give weekly updates to stake holders . 

    What You’ll Need To Succeed

    Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering or related field 

  • at least 2-3 years of industrial experience 

  • Electrical controls and automation systems knowledge.

  • Proficient with MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, SQL Database, and Networking.

  • Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment. 

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs  

  • Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments. 

  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Desire to learn and make a difference!

Preferred

  • Project Management Experience

  • Database Knowledge

  • VMware virtual environment administration

  • Structure Text PLC Programming

  • Robotics software and programming knowledge

Pay: The pay range for this position is $68,000 to $102,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.Benefits: Unilever employees are eligible to participate in our benefits plan.
