If you are an accounting professional looking for an opportunity to gain experience, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will have the opportunity to provide project and systems development support for a variety of accounting functions. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support issue resolution in those accounting areas and to evaluate, develop, and lead the implementation of process improvements. You will focus specifically on the needs of accounting functions including General Accounting, Tax, Payroll, Accounts Payable/Receivable and Cash Management to implement new processes, resolve various issues and pursue process improvement opportunities. Further, you will be a key representative of the functional accounting areas as you interact across multiple functions within the HVACR Americas business in this role. You can expect to work with multiple departments and multiple businesses across the company as you participate in both local and companywide initiatives.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, You Will:

  • Participate in/lead department and/or cross-functional projects and provide other ad-hoc analysis as needed.

  • Provide strong representation for accounting functions during project implementation and issue resolution to ensure outcomes that support efficient, accurate and timely financial transactions and reporting.

  • Perform account analysis of various accounts, identify, and resolve issues and implement process improvements.

  • Create and enter manual journal entries and prepare reconciliations for month end close and maintain supporting workpapers and analyses.

  • Engage with technical teams and other resources working on Oracle and process improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

  • Utilize Oracle general ledger software and various other financial software to perform job duties.

  • Support fieldwork of internal and external auditors.

  • Take part in an integral role with our finance/accounting co-op program, directing work and other assignments as needed.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance plus four (4) years of experience

  • The candidate should possess strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and cost accounting theories and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of linked spreadsheets, data downloads, complex formulas, and pivot tables.

  • Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities.

  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work productively in a team and independently.

  • Must have strong project leadership skills.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Prior experience with Oracle financial applications

  • Prior experience working across multiple accounting functions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Power Point) including advanced functions

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management software

  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (Domo, Power BI, Power Query)

  • Advanced Excel Skills

  • CPA and/or CMA certification(s)
