JOB DESCRIPTION
If you are a Manufacturing Senior Software Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an opening for you! Based in Sidney OH, you will work inside the corporate advanced manufacturing engineering (AME) department. You will use your creativity, software knowledge, and engineering skills to design manufacturing software-related systems for our internal manufacturing plant customers. You will gain ownership in maintaining and developing software products used in manufacturing. Working closely with AME and Plant engineers, you’ll use your unique skills to manage software development throughout the application lifecycle including design, support, coding, managing data systems, debugging, and rollout. You will research and monitor manufacturing industry software system trends and implement best in class solutions for our global manufacturing facilities.
AS A MANUFACTURING SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Design, code, develop, debug, test, support, and sustain software applications throughout the software development life cycle.
Work closely with internal manufacturing customers to quickly resolve production disruptions and improve manufacturing software related processes.
Create and implement project plans leading the transition to and rolling out new applications while supporting existing applications and systems.
Work with Microsoft SQL server databases, including relational table design, stored procedure development, job setup, and user access to databases.
Recommend and implement upgrades, patches, and new applications to support and continuously improve our manufacturing systems.
Plan, execute, and communicate project status of your projects utilizing departmental project management processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent education and experience
5 years of software design and development experience
1 year of manufacturing software or I.T. experience.
1 year of C# or vb.net software development with MS Visual Studio
Strong MS SQL skills including table design, indexes, functions, and stored procedures
Must be able to demonstrate a history of learning new software systems-related tool sets.
Demonstrated skills required for hands-on system support role.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet customer expectations
Ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment
Possess excellent communication, and organizational skills.
Available for out-of-town travel 10-20% of the time
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to travel internationally

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
7 years of software engineering experience
2 years of software development for manufacturing
CNC Control API experience is a plus
VB6 experience is a plus
PLC experience is a plus
Ignition, Tableau, Power BI experience is a plus
Azure experience or knowledge is a plus
Flexible Work Schedule – Hybrid Work Option and Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work from home option up to two days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve our customers.
