If you are an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will be responsible for engineering project management, with a focus on executing key new product development initiatives on CO2 semi-hermetic, in our Refrigeration business. You will be responsible for evaluating, maturing, and developing new design technologies to improve efficiency, reduce cost and improve reliability to add incremental value to our customer's applications. Projects will require working with cross-functional teams, presenting project status to management, and interacting with customers and suppliers.

AS A PROJECT ENGINEER/SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

  • Provide thought leadership, critical thinking & inquisitive mindset to lead global development teams through Technology development.

  • Support internal/external customers and global cross-functional colleagues by communicating technical and project milestones & updates.

  • Develop mastery of existing calculators and engineering tools as well as facilitate of creation of new design and analysis tools as needed/appropriate.

  • Apply a high degree of independent engineering knowledge to lead cross-functional efforts in technical development and problem-solving.

  • Conceive and execute development and testing plans based on a mindset towards risk mitigation, and coordinate with appropriate resources for timely execution.

  • Apply and support the incorporation of Lean principles and techniques into the New Product Development process.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Co-op experience is a plus)

  • Excellent presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple assignments

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States unrestricted for an unlimited period of time - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERED:

  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience in the development of electrically driven rotating equipment or similar fields.

  • Experience with GT Suite, Power BI, Minitab.

  • Ability to communicate with technical, manufacturing, and business leaders at all levels.

  • Strong Thermodynamics, vapor compression cycle & heat transfer knowledge/experience.
