Job Title: Press Operator/General Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Press Operators/General Laborers to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Shelbyville, KY. The ideal candidates will lead all aspects of press line operations, from machine start-up to shut-down, while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead in all aspects of operation of press lines, including changeovers, machine start-up, running, and shut-down.

• Support operations in achieving World Class standards, starting with safety.

• Run all jobs according to customer specifications, manufacturing specifications, print specifications, color folders, and standard operating procedures.

• Accurately and completely fill out all required paperwork, including production reports, job verification sheets, ink usage sheets, QA reports, roll tickets, S.O.C sheets, and others as assigned.

• Work with and direct the press assistant and pit crew to minimize job change-over and downtime.

• Train and guide the press assistant to efficiently perform all required duties as outlined in the assistant training matrix.

• Understand and adhere to product safety standards.

• Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives, including cross-training and moving to the work.

• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Essential Skills

• Experience with machine operating, lamination, and press machine operations.

• 1+ year of manufacturing experience.

• Should be comfortable working 12-hour shifts and be on your feet for the entirety of the shift.

• Capability to enter data into a computer system and function independently.

• Should be comfortable moving 50 lbs when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Training will be provided on the machinery.

Work Environment

Our facility is very clean and temperature-controlled. It houses large printing presses and requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The work schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, with potential, but unlikely, additional work on Fridays. Shift times are 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM. Employees must be able to handle the adhesive smell throughout the facility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
