The Senior Director of Procurement, Asia Pacific is responsible for driving competitive business advantage by implementing innovative strategies and processes for cost reduction, quality, and delivery across the corporation’s $850M spend within the Asia Pacific region. The position will support platforms and Danaher operating companies with procurement initiatives that deliver cost reduction, cost avoidance, risk management and service/quality improvement. This role is a key participant in developing our procurement strategy in a rapidly evolving and important region of the world.

This position is part of the Corporate Global Strategic Procurement team and will be located in China at a Danaher office, or could be hybrid.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Partner with our operating companies to deliver on commitments to total cost of ownership, supply chain resiliency, and other strategic procurement initiatives

  • Recruit and nurture key talent in the region

  • Provide market intelligence and budget guidance

  • Manage a team of 11 total procurement and supplier quality professionals in executing priorities, strategies and processes to deliver OMX while ensuring QDCI objectives are achieved.

  • Enable effective processes throughout the region to deliver Supplier Development, Supply Base Optimization and Supply Continuity

  • Ensure our supply base is compliant with all Danaher requirements and the Supplier Code of Conduct

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant area such as supply chain, business management, engineering, operations or finance with a preference for an advanced degree

  • A minimum of 10 years’ combined leadership experience in procurement or other supply chain-related functions, with at least 5 years in China and/or Southeast Asia

  • Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal

  • Experience with many of the following direct & indirect material / Services procurement categories: Metals, plastics, electronics, engineered services, real estate, IT, HR, marketing, MRO

  • Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous situations, know how to resolve conflicts and have a proven track record of achieving results

  • Experience negotiating with C-suite executives at supplier companies

  • Full proficiency in use of computer tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other database type tools.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Leading or executing tool moves or business transfer between suppliers, at scale

  • Established relationships with capable suppliers across many categories in China as well as Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, etc.
