The Product Solutions Architect - Mechanical is a critical link between customer requirements, engineering innovation, and product delivery. This role ensures our data center liquid cooling products meet industry standards and customer expectations. This position leads mechanical R&D activities, develops new prototypes, and addresses design challenges to improve our ability to provide high-performing solutions that align with our mission. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Develop and prototype new systems and sub-systems with a strong focus on modular design and manufacturing methods, including sheet metal design, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies. Perform initial product designs that seamlessly integrate into data center environments, addressing customer needs and aligning with industry standards. Serve as the go-to expert for mechanical product development, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver innovative and practical solutions. Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, technical proposals, and design presentations using tools like AutoCAD. Generate bills of materials and technical specifications for proposed designs. Provide technical advice on product application and selection, offering engineering insights and ensuring optimal solutions for data center installations. Address customer issues, identify product portfolio gaps, and resolve design or production challenges with a proactive, analytical approach. Stay informed of industry trends, market needs, and competitor activities to enhance product offerings and drive innovation in data center cooling and mechanical systems. Lead sophisticated projects and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless implementation and fostering strong customer relationships. Maintain and update engineering resources, including drawings, catalogs, and technical references, while pursuing ongoing professional development and best practices. YOU HAVE: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Ideally 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on data center infrastructure, IT server design, or related technical fields. Expertise in liquid and air cooling, hydraulic systems, power distribution, and energy efficiency is essential. Proven experience with data center operations, CRAC units, or liquid cooling systems; experience with AI solution design is a plus. Proficiency in SolidWorks and MacroFlow for mechanical design and hydraulic simulation is required. Experience with additional tools such as ANSYS, Siemens NX, Simscape Fluids, or FLOW-3D is advantageous. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation skills are helpful but not mandatory. Knowledge of advanced design and manufacturing methods, including sheet metal design, high-level control theory, and heat transfer systems. Demonstrated ability to prototype technologies rapidly, solve complex technical challenges, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Willing to travel up to 30% as required.
