Crate & Barrel Product Manager: Merchandising, Planning, and Execution in Sausalito, California

The Product Manager, Hudson Grace, is instrumental in shaping the strategic direction and execution of the brand. This role encompasses leading category planning and strategy to drive business growth, product selection, and financial accountability.

This is a hybrid role that currently works four days per week in the Sausalito, CA office.

A day in the life as a Product Manager…

  • Strategic Product Development:

  • Develop and execute overall product assortment strategies across store and online channels to drive sales and profitability

  • Lead product design and development from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with RMU targets, brand identity, and market trends

  • Collaborate closely with design, buying, planning, and sourcing leadership teams to drive category growth and profitability to support company goals

  • Vendor, Agent & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Establish and manage relationships with international and domestic vendors and agents, ensuring effective communication and coordination

  • Oversee international agents managing vendor relationships and support product development and procurement processes

  • Product & Sales Analysis / Assortment Planning:

  • Analyze sales trends and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and make recommendations to increase sales and revenue, optimizing product assortment and pricing strategies

  • Make expert recommendations for seasonal and core product mixes, pricing strategies, and exit plans

  • Negotiate product costs, terms, and conditions to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms

  • Channel Execution:

  • Partner with marketing, creative, visual and individual channels (stores and ecommerce/digital) to ensure strategies, content, big ideas, and training align with product strategies and calendar

  • Contribute insights to drive efficient operations, cost savings, and increased sales success by strategically aligning product assortments with channel strategies

  • Execution & Timeline Management:

  • Ensure the timely execution of product launches and adherence to the product development timeline

  • Set and enforce product lockdown dates for efficient resource allocation, cost management, and quality control and ultimately, a successful product launch

  • Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Manage the Merchandise Coordinator, overseeing all aspects of product and SKU setup, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems

  • Manage the planner to align merchandise strategy and inventory levels

  • Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute innovative gift sets and bundles and support various services and programs (including registry, BOPIS, design trade, corporate gifting, and more)

  • Provide support to the customer service team on order and product inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of cost implications as they relate to the product development process

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and deliver against multiple, concurrent programs

  • Takes initiative and enjoys pioneering in new processes and technology, including emerging web and mobile technologies

    We’d love to hear from you if you have…

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in product development, sourcing, innovation, strategy, and product trend forecasting

  • 2+ years of experience in a Merchant role or in a similar role within the retail industry, with a focus on driving category growth and profitability

  • 2+ years leading others

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint

Minimum Starting Rate: $117,000.00 Annually

Up to: $155,050.00 Annually

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
