Hirschbach Motor Lines Account Manager Lead - Expedited in Sapulpa, Oklahoma
The Account Manager Lead – Expedited is responsible for leading, mentoring, and supporting the Expedited team to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. This role serves as the primary point of contact for expedited accounts, overseeing freight movement, monitoring service levels, and implementing solutions to enhance performance. Additionally, this role fosters strong relationships with internal teams and drivers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination to meet business objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities
Leads, mentors, and supports a team of Account Managers, Driver Leaders, and Planners for the Expedited Fleet.
Serves as a primary point of contact for Expedited Account needs.
Monitors service levels, resolves escalations, and proactively leads implementation solutions.
Manages freight that Expedited hauls from shipper to receiver to ensure Expedited delivers exceptional customer service.
Creates and implements Expedited Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitors account profitability and develops strategies for growth and cost control.
Identifies business opportunities to expand services and enhance revenue.
Communicates and elevates issues promptly to the appropriate team members within the organization.
Works closely with Expedited leadership to create consistency and ensure best practices are being followed.
Identifies and communicates freight needs for current and future Expedited lanes.
Builds and maintains professional and positive relationships with Hirschbach team members.
Identifies freight to maximize utilization and profitability for Expedited lanes.
Creates Plans of Action (POAs) to increase lane profitability and service percentages and updates POAs with concerns and/or delays.
Collaborates with Driver Leaders to coordinate Hirschbach operators’ scheduled home time, time off, downtime, status, and predicted time available to provide continuous freight to all fleets.
Supervises the handling of freight from shipper to receiver.
Communicates with drivers by promptly answering phone calls, emails, and messages to ensure proper communication and eliminate hold time for operators.
Collaborates with supporting departments to ensure the needs of Expedited are fulfilled.
Performs other duties as assigned including proactively assisting the Expedited team in achieving the organization’s objectives.
Talent Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent in education, paired with relevant professional experience.
One year of transportation experience is required, preferably within Expedited Operations.
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and energy.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
Computer proficiency and ability to navigate between multiple programs.
Demonstrates an "All In to Win" attitude and performances displays self-motivation and a strong desire to learn within an unpredictable and demanding environment.
Displays an expert level knowledge of Hours of Service Serves
Displays an expert level understanding of Hirschbach operations and how the freight network functions.
Demonstrates expert AS400 proficiencies and can enter data accurately Oversees the Driver scheduling for Expedited drivers
Demonstrates the ability to consistently achieve low deadhead miles to maximize overall profitability.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain professional and positive relationships with Hirschbach operators, operations team members, leadership and customers.
