Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist II provides routine respiratory care services for pediatric adult and geriatric patient populations including but not limited to provision of inhaled medication bronchial hygiene oxygen therapy noninvasive ventilation (NIV) continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) arterial blood gas analysis and limited assessment of pulmonary mechanics (Forced/ Slow Vital Capacity Negative Inspiratory Force etc.) in accordance with Respiratory Therapy protocols and/or policy & procedure. Additionally the Respiratory Therapist II may assist physicians with complex procedures such as endotracheal intubation and therapeutic bronchoscopy as needed. The Respiratory Therapist II is designated for individuals who may not have demonstrated/ documented competency in all areas of clinical care (adult critical care unit emergency department and neonatal intensive care unit. When all requirements regarding competency and experience have been met the individual would be eligible for reclassification as a Respiratory Therapist III.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • One (1) year of experience as a respiratory therapist required

  • Successful completion of accredited school of respiratory therapy and associated clinical rotations required.

  • Associate of Science degree required

  • Must possess a valid State of California License or Permit Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care

  • Current BLS ACLS PALS and NRP certification required.

Preferred:

  • Two (2) years of experience as a respiratory therapist experience preferred.

Pay Range

$70.78 - $70.78 /hour
