    Job Description:

    This position is responsible for answering and responding to the telephone calls and forwarding messages to appropriate employees.  In addition this position also sorts and distributes mail, provides general clerical support to administration, assists with data entry, provides guests with orientation to Serenity House as needed, and assists the office staff as needed.

    Job Duties:

  • Answers the main phone line for Serenity House and transfers calls to the appropriate person; or takes a message

  • Directs visitors and families to patient rooms and other areas of the house.

  • Collects and routes incoming mail and prepares (stamps) outgoing mail.

  • Assists with data entry.

  • Uses computer to obtain patient information, as needed.

  • Maintains an accurate patient census for Emergency / disaster preparedness

  • Completes all projects in a timely manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Assists with filing

  • Provides tours to family & community members, or potential residents.

    Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • At least one year of professional office experience required.

  • Excellent written/verbal skills in English. Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

  • Ability to type 50 wpm.

  • Knowledge of alpha/numerical filing system.

  • Proficiency of basic math skills.

  • Ability to be punctual at all times.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Reliable transportation.

    Physical Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to push/pull 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stoop, bend, and squat.

  • Ability to walk up one flight of stairs.

  • Ability to walk one mile.

  • Ability to sit for one hour, minimum.

  • Visual and audio acuity.
