THE ROLE: The Field Technician, capable of operating a Non-DOT vehicle up to 26000 lbs is responsible for supporting the delivery, installation and operation of our pumps on Xylem Service Center sites and/or customer job sites.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Identify all items to be delivered or picked up with customer to ensure completeness and accuracy. Perform visual inspection of equipment being picked up and note any damage. Obtain customer’s signature on appropriate paperwork.

Safe operation of a DOT regulated vehicle - (F-250/F-350) and pull a trailer

Utilize motorized equipment handling machinery to safely load equipment on and off trucks and trailers.(Forklift, Reach Truck, Telehandler)

Secure all items loaded on the truck for safe over-the-road travel in accordance with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), Federal Department of Transportation and local Department of Transportation guidelines.

Assist in securing load utilizing straps and chains.

Ensure yard and loading areas are clear of debris and trash; accessories and equipment are organized and easy to access.

Follow all safety processes and procedures and maintain a ‘Safety First’ approach when completing daily work tasks.

Complete a Job Safety Assessment before beginning any job on a customer site. Ensure compliance with all Personal Protective Equipment requirements.

Create and maintain safe working environment and culture within the organization

Travel Requirements:

FMCSA Certificate of Awareness

Driver Certificate of Violations

Driver Statement of on Duty Hours Road Test o Copy of Driver’s License

Copy of Medical Certificate

Clean driving record

QUALIFICATIONS: Education Requirements:

HS diploma or equivalent

Capable of obtaining a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements

Experience Requirements:

Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)

Ability to obtain DOT Medical card

Experience with flatbed trailers and proper load securement techniques (chaining, strapping, etc.)

Construction or technical work experience preferred.

Ability to understand weight requirements / weight distribution.

DAY IN THE LIFE : the working environment is a shop/manufacturing environment subject to all weather conditions, shop noise, and fumes within OSHA standards and machinery with moving parts. Operating a non-DOT vehicle up to 26000 lbs. The physical demands may include but not limited to bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. This role requires extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime, and on-call rotations) and travel to fulfill duties listed above.

SALARY : The estimated salary range for this position is $23/Hr. to $30/Hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as "skills, endorsements, certifications and experience and work location". Salary range:

$39,500.00 - $63,000.00
