We are partnering with a leading food distribution company looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team and help manage and improve financial processes as they scale.

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of GreenHarvest Distributors, overseeing the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting. The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in food distribution or manufacturing industries and be excited to bring their expertise to a fast-paced, growth-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Maintenance: Manage and oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end close process, prepare journal entries, and assist with the preparation of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

• Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed account reconciliations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, provide insights into cost structures, margins, and profitability, and assist in forecasting and budgeting.

• Inventory Accounting: Manage inventory accounting processes, including valuation, costing, and reconciliation, in alignment with company policies and industry standards.

• Tax & Compliance Support: Assist with tax filings, year-end audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Collaborate with the finance team to enhance accounting procedures, implement internal controls, and streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with operations, procurement, and sales teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and understanding of cost drivers.

  Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close.

• Experience in the food distribution, manufacturing, or related industries is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).

• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and cost management.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

• CPA or in progress (preferred, but not required).
