What is the job about?

As a Production Manager at Grundfos, your main responsibility will be to supervise and oversee the operations of an Autonomous Production Unit (APU), ensuring adherence in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices, quality standards, delivery targets, and cost control. Your great leadership skills will be key influencing the entire APU team, including direct, indirect, and functional members, towards achieving their goals and delivering optimum results.

In this role, you will be fully accountable for MOD (Manufacturing Operations & Development) administration, in accordance with delegated authority, working closely with Production Supervisors. You will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring compliance with internal rules and regulations, emphasizing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) standards.

As the Production Manager, you will directly promote initiatives related to process and product improvements, as well as maintenance activities, including corrective and scheduled maintenance. Continuous improvement will be at the heart of your responsibilities, driving efficiencies and enhancing overall performance.

Your commitment to customer satisfaction will be vital, ensuring that production activities meet their expectations and requirements.

This position reports directly to the Senior Plant Manager and will operate daily out of the San Luis Potosí, MX facility. Qualified candidates must have authorization to work in Mexico without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the team, monitoring competences and fostering autonomy through training plans and actions implementation.

  • Ensure compliance with working standards in the APU, focusing on safety, work instructions, and product quality.

  • Apply standards and reaction plans consistently, escalating issues as per guidelines.

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, organize delegation, and conduct annual Performance and Development Dialogue (PDD) reviews.

  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset and responsibility towards achieving targets within the APU, EMS, and turnover.

  • Manage production activities to ensure customer satisfaction, tracking performance indicators such as FTT, NCs OPR, OTTR, and production scrap.

  • Assign and verify corrective actions for recurring problems, escalating unresolved issues to relevant departments.

  • Validate and communicate APU capacity for SIOP/MPS, ensuring compliance with weekly production plans.

  • Support strategy deployment, sustainability index, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and GPS Plan.

  • Establish and implement budget plans, taking corrective actions to achieve budget targets, conversion costs, and MRO consumptions.

  • Oversee process and product improvement projects, emphasizing process flow and systematic views.

  • Oversee corrective and scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and maintaining/improving GPS (Grundfos Production System).

  • Great leadership skills

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent bachelor's degree with relevant experience in Production / Manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Production Manager, managing direct labor and middle management teams

  • Fluent English proficiency in speaking, writing, and conversation

  • Knowledge of quality systems, such as ISO 9000

  • Familiarity with EHS systems, specifically ISO 14000 and OSHAS

  • Basic knowledge of finance principles

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Proficiency in problem-solving tools and techniques

  • Master's degree in a related field (desirable)

  • Proficient in the use of office and Windows software

  • Basic knowledge of SAP

  • Familiarity with core tools used in manufacturing processes
