About the Role
This role sits at the core of Lenovo Research’s technology strategy , driving some of the most significant strategic initiatives in the company. As part of our Technology Strategy Team , you will be responsible for shaping the long-term R&D roadmap, investment priorities, and innovation agenda , ensuring that Lenovo stays ahead in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving technology landscape.

You will work alongside world-class researchers, engineers, and business leaders , bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology development and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Planning: Drive forward-looking technology strategy initiatives that align with Lenovo’s corporate and R&D objectives.
Emerging Technology Analysis: Identify, assess, and synthesize advancements in AI, ML, computing, and other frontier technologies to inform strategic priorities.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with research teams across AI, hardware, software, and new computing paradigms to translate technical breakthroughs into business impact.
Executive Advisory: Provide insights and recommendations to Lenovo Research leadership and corporate executives , influencing R&D investment decisions.
Innovation Roadmap Development: Help define Lenovo’s future technology roadmap by evaluating disruptive trends, competitive landscapes, and commercialization potential
What We Look For

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, ideally gained from management consulting, corporate strategy, or technology strategy roles .
Experience working with cross-functional teams, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
A track record of working in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments , where curiosity and adaptability are essential.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of management consulting experience in technology, digital transformation, or innovation strategy.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics Engineering, Business or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Business Administration.
4+ years post-MBA strategy consulting experience.
Proven experience in technology strategy development, with a strong understanding of AI, and emerging tech trends.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical and business information.
Ability to work cross-functionally, engaging with R&D, product, and executive leadership.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
Quantitative modelling & financial analysis skills, with experience in investment assessment, market sizing, and ROI analysis.
Strong ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive insights through data-driven methodologies.
Expertise in developing high-quality strategic presentations and executive reports.
Experience in corporate strategy, venture capital, or product strategy within a leading technology firm.
Familiarity with patent strategy, IP assessment, or tech scouting.
Experience working with government agencies, research institutions, or academia on technology roadmaps.
Proficiency in data science, ML, or AI-related tools and frameworks (Python, TensorFlow, etc.).
Understanding of R&D lifecycle and commercialization processes for deep tech innovations.
Experience in technology partnerships, M&A, or venture investments in the tech sector.
Typical Candidate:
Post-MBA professional with prior experience in strategy consulting.
Has worked on technology strategy, innovation, or digital transformation projects.
Passionate about emerging technologies such as AI, ML, cloud computing, and advanced computing architectures.
Strong ability to navigate complex, fast-paced corporate environments and influence C-suite decision-making.
Experience in business case development for emerging technologies, including market sizing, commercialization, and investment assessment.
Background in product management, technical program management, or venture investments within a tech company, startup incubator, or innovation lab.
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $166k - 205k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
