Based in the United States (preferred locations: Oakland, CA or San Jose, CA), you’ll assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget for world class projects. Jacobs is a hybrid work environment, and some work may be performed remotely. Up to 50% travel may be required for specific internal or external meetings or project needs.
You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive group of professional staff to support projects through data collection and management, data review, development of technical reports, calculating emissions estimates, and so much more.

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or closely related engineering field.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
United States Citizenship.
Ability to work in one of the preferred locations for this role (Oakland, CA or San Jose, CA).
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Master’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or closely related engineering field.
Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs.
Self-driven time management and organizational skills.
Ability to obtain 40-hour Hazardous Waste and Emergency Operations (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher class, if needed for role.
Successfully passed the Fundamental of Engineering exam in California or possess the ability to pass the exam.
More than two years of experience in environmental compliance topics including Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans; Stormwater (SW) inspections and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs); Air emissions inventories, reporting, and permitting, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) submittals, and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) calculations.
