Based in the United States (preferred locations: Oakland, CA or San Jose, CA), you’ll assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget for world class projects. Jacobs is a hybrid work environment, and some work may be performed remotely. Up to 50% travel may be required for specific internal or external meetings or project needs.

You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive group of professional staff to support projects through data collection and management, data review, development of technical reports, calculating emissions estimates, and so much more.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or closely related engineering field.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

• United States Citizenship.

• Ability to work in one of the preferred locations for this role (Oakland, CA or San Jose, CA).

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Master’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or closely related engineering field.

• Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs.

• Self-driven time management and organizational skills.

• Ability to obtain 40-hour Hazardous Waste and Emergency Operations (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher class, if needed for role.

• Successfully passed the Fundamental of Engineering exam in California or possess the ability to pass the exam.

• More than two years of experience in environmental compliance topics including Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans; Stormwater (SW) inspections and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs); Air emissions inventories, reporting, and permitting, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) submittals, and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) calculations.
