Meet the Team
Cisco is hiring a Supply Chain Data Scientist for our San Jose, CA location. This role is part of the Data Science - Business and Transformation team within Manufacturing Operations at Cisco, a key function within Supply Chain Operations. As a key team member, in this role, you will enable the long-term data science and AI capabilities for the functions and develop next generation technological capabilities.

Your Impact
In this role, you will use Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize and improve supply chain operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions for Order Management, Inventory optimization, Logistics, Supply Management and risk mitigation.
Develop and deploy Machine Learning and AI models to improve supply chain efficiency, including forecasting, optimization, and anomaly detection etc.
Use Large Language Models (LLMs) for automating supply chain insights, document processing, and predictive analytics.
Perform statistical modeling, data mining, and time series analysis to support supply chain decision-making.
Collaborate with business partners, data engineers, and software developers to integrate ML models into production.
Continuously improve models and algorithms based on real-world data and performance feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years validated experience spanning in Supply Chain or equivalent domain. Bachelor or in industrial engineering, operations research, management science, supply chain management, finance, or other quantitative disciplines.
Strong background in ML approaches and techniques, ranging from Artificial Neural Networks to Bayesian methods.
Familiarity with application of LLMs, prompt design, and fine-tuning methods. Familiarity with Gen AI Framework such as Agentic , RAG Models. Tools (Langchain , Crew AI ) and vector databases ( weviate) etc.
Experience working with large datasets, SQL, Non SQL , and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.). Exposure to Oracle, SAP HANA, Snowflake, or other data warehousing technologies.
Understanding of supply chain concepts, including forecasting, inventory management, and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with any cloud Services or Google Cloud services (BigQuery, Vertex AI, AutoML, Cloud Functions, etc.) or any other cloud.
Understanding of optimization techniques for supply chain decision-making such as Linear Programing, Gourbi etc. Experience with MLOps and CI/CD pipelines for deploying ML models.
Experience integrating APIs for data extraction, model deployment, or external system integration. NeMo and NIM Nvidia framework for building deploying and inferencing AI Models.
