LinkedIn Sr. Staff Software Engineer - LinkedIn Marketing Solutions in United States

*This role can be based in Mountain View, CA, San Francisco, CA, or New York, NY.

LinkedIn Marketing Solutions (LMS) is a leader in B2B digital advertising, helping companies deliver the right message, to the right audience, on a safe and trusted platform. Through our suite of innovative advertising solutions, we provide customers high reach and ROI. The Marketplace Verticalization & Platforms (MVP) team is responsible for building platforms and solutions that power post-click and supply-side member experience personalization to drive higher quality outcomes.

Foundational ads platforms:• LeadGen Platform that powers our lead generation solution for both paid and organic use cases across the LinkedIn ecosystem with robust compliance support, access through API and UX, and sophisticated validation/transformation capabilities.• Rendering Platform that supports data aggregation, highly scalable availability, regulatory requirements, and ads member experiences across clients.• Palette Personalization Platform that drives layout and content personalization at render time, incorporating member signals and facets to drive performance/engagement on member surfaces.

Immersive post-click experiences:• LeadGen Forms that can be attached or inline for our ads and organic products, managed via an embeddable UI Platform, and controlled with enterprise permissions.• Landing Pages that drive onsite engagement and signal collection, personalize through GAI and member facets, and provide a mutable canvas for ad solutions.

Verticalized solutions and ads supply via onsite placements:• Events and Talent Media verticals with products and solutions spanning the marketing ecosystem to drive outcomes at scale.• Right Rail ad placement including Text and Dynamic ad campaign types with associated ad formats.

As a technical leader, you would be responsible for collaborating with other senior engineers across the organization to deliver high impact products and platforms. The role requires customer empathy, thought leadership, technical vision, and the ability to inspire a team of engineers in solving challenging problems.

Responsibilities:

• You will deliver impact by driving innovation while building and shipping software at scale• You will execute on product and technical workstreams by collaborating with engineering, product managers, designers, other software development teams, and business partners• You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7• You will provide architectural guidance and mentorship to up-level the engineering organization• You will actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies• You will design products/services/tools and code that can be used by others while upholding operational impact of all decisions• You will identify problems and opportunities and lead teams to architect, design, implement and operationalize systems• You will work closely with and influence product and/or technology partners regularly to help define a long-term technology roadmap• You will resolve conflicts between teams within the organization to get alignment and build team culture• You will create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation, and learning• You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship• You will work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack• You will review others’ work and share knowledge

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience• 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions• 5+ years of experience programming in object-oriented languages such as C/C++, Java, Go, Rust, Python, Scala• 2+ years of experience as an architect, or technical leadership position

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline• 10+ years’ experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership position• 5+ years’ experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures• 10+ years programming experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C/C++• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures• Experience leading by influence, formulating and driving technical strategies across various organizations • Experience leading a large organization• Experience with B2B advertising• Background working on revenue generating product engineering and an understanding of marketing customer lifecycle• Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications• Relevant experience working with engineers across multiple skill sets (e.g. Application/Backend, UI/Frontend, iOS/Android/Mobile)• Understanding of common performance patterns and anti-patterns in distributed systems• Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $175,000 - $288,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
