Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety CoordinatorJob Description

This is an entry-level Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator position ideal for candidates with over 2 years of EHS experience within a shipyard environment. The selected candidate will perform site walks of the shipyard facility, write EHS compliance reports, complete safety logs, interact with all departments on site to ensure compliance with OSHA and government guidelines, and lead Injury Illness Prevention Program safety trainings for employees.

Responsibilities

• Perform site walks around the shipyard to ensure EHS compliance.

• Write EHS compliance reports and complete safety logs.

• Work through audits and report shipyard conditions to the EHS Manager.

• Coordinate and lead safety trainings, including the Injury Illness Prevention Program.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of EHS experience.

• Experience working in a shipyard.

• US Citizenship.

• DBIDS certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing and scheduling safety trainings.

• Leading Injury Illness Prevention Program (training can be provided if needed).

• Familiarity with OSHA and government guidelines.

• OSHA 5400 - Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Maritime Industry.

• OSHA 5410 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Maritime Industry.

• OSHA 3095 - Electrical Standards.

• OSHA 521 - OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a shipyard repair and maintenance environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in such settings to ensure familiarity. The company boasts a great culture where employees feel valued, and there is strong inter-departmental collaboration with good employee tenure. The team size includes a Director of EHS, EHS Supervisor, EHS Coordinator III, and other EHS Coordinators. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm, providing a consistent and structured work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.70 - $32.50/hr.
