Navistar, Inc. Manufacturing Operations Supervisor in San Antonio, Texas
Position Overview
The Navistar San Antonio Manufacturing Plant is a benchmark facility that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles to meet the needs of today’s – and tomorrow’s – customers. By using proven engineering and leading technology and manufacturing principles, Navistar takes mobility and transport to a new level of impact. This facility has the flexibility to build school busses along with Electric school busses that allow Navistar to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth. Using the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected manufacturing principles we will continue growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality. Works closely with all other groups within the facility to minimize downtime and ensure operators have the proper information to complete their assigned functions.
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor role directs the development and implementation of activities in material line support team to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Develops schedules and workforce requirements for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
The Navistar San Antonio Manufacturing Plant runs two schedules (Mon-Thurs, 4:30AM – 3:00PM and 5:00AM - 3:30PM). This role will support production and may need to cover including Fridays and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage a team to provide support in daily production needs
Maintain and audit accurate inventory
Develop and encourage the team in growing within their career
Demonstrate problem solving resolution, root cause analysis and corrective action to resolve and prevent production interruptions
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and material control systems
May assist with the establishment and maintenance of inventory control system
Develop and evaluate personnel to ensure efficiency of operation functions
Allocate staffing and coverage, foresee production issues and diminish downtime
Drive Safety improvements, behaviors and strong culture of safety in Supply Chain
Communicate across multiple functions including Operations, Quality, Engineering and other production departments in manufacturing plant to ensure production goals are met
Develop 5S schedules and maintains 5S in assigned stations
Plan and schedule overtime based off of tasks and production needs
Assist team members with communicating to off-site warehouse to get parts to the plant
Responsible for enforcement of contractual language and obligations and working with local Union Representatives toward effective resolution and prevention of grievance issues.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 3 years of production/manufacturing experience
OR
Master’s degree
At least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience
OR
- At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Computer Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and reporting tools. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and BAAN
Prior leadership experience is needed

Ability to lead teams to improve safety and efficiency
