Product Management Specialist - Navitaire Internal Products Summary of the role:
Navitaire is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join its NavIP (Navitaire Internal Products) division as a Product Management Specialist. In this role, the successful candidate will play a crucial part in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of our internal software products. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of innovative and user-centric solutions that meet the needs of our employees and internal stakeholders. Additionally, the Product Management Specialist will oversee the operation of several critical tools, lead a dedicated team, and engage with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and innovation. The Navitaire Internal Products (NavIP) team is responsible for several applications essential to the Navitaire business, including ServiceNow, Navitaire Time Entry (NaviTE), Navitaire Customer Invoicing (NCI), Navitaire Azure DevOps (ADO), ADO TimeLog tool, Release Notes tool (ReNo), and the Customer Care Portal. This is a hybrid role and would require you to be in our local Salt Lake City of Minneapolis office 2-3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision and strategy to guide the development and evolution of internal software products
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify internal customer needs, market trends, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions
- Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and prioritizes features and enhancements
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, IT, and other teams to ensure successful product development and launch
- Requirements Gathering: Develop and document functional requirements and product feature specifications following Agile methodologies
- Project Management: Oversee the product development lifecycle, including planning, execution, and monitoring of project milestones and deliverables
- User Experience: Advocate for a user-centric approach to product development, ensuring that the internal user experience is intuitive and efficient
- Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance metrics to evaluate product success and identify areas for improvement
- Communication: Communicate product updates, progress, and insights to stakeholders, including executives, employees, and partners
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve product-related issues and challenges to ensure a smooth and successful product launch
Requirements:
To succeed in the Product Management Specialist role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in any field, preferably IT, Software/Systems Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum 5 years of experience in agile software development
- Proven success as a business analyst in a complex environment, delivering IT solutions for internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences
- Strong leader, able to lead and manage a team effectively
- Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
- Passion for understanding internal customer needs and delivering exceptional user experiences
- Proven experience as a Product Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a software development environment
- Strong understanding of software development p rocesses and technologies, including Agile methodologies
- High attention to detail and commitment to excellence in product development
- Proficiency with product management tools and software such as JIRA, Confluence, and road mapping tools
