The Sayu Lab for Biomechanics & Locomotion at the University of Utah is seeking highly motivated candidates for two postdoc research associate positions. These positions are designed to prepare individuals for a research-focused career in academia or industry. The candidate will work with Dr. Kota Takahashi to conduct collaborative and interdisciplinary projects that bridge biomechanics, physiology, engineering and rehabilitation medicine. The candidate will participate in one of three actively funded research by NIH and DOD: Research Theme 1: gait biomechanics, vascular physiology and thermoregulation in individuals with diabetes and amputation Research Theme 2: in-vivo muscle mechanics and energetics of foot-ankle in older adults Research Theme 3: foot-ankle robotics/prosthetics and gait biomechanics in individuals with a leg amputationThe position is for one year with the possibility of renewal for multiple years based on performance and funding. The selected candidates will have opportunities to lead and/or co-author manuscript publications, and they will be encouraged to develop independent fellowships/grants proposals to advance their careers.
