Job Description:
The Nursing Strategic Operations Director generates the vision and strategy of the nursing operations division of Intermountain Health. This enterprise-wide position provides leadership over defined areas within the scope of nursing responsibilities shared with the VP of Nursing Strategic Operations.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Creates the nursing strategic operations plans and ensures they are deployed, aligned, and standardized across the enterprise. Ensures that evidence-based practices are established, effectively implemented, and sustained across the enterprise for nursing strategic operations.
Plans and develops the evaluation of services for the standardization of equipment / supplies / capital planning to ensure best and leading practices are in place.
Develops and manages high impact stewardship initiatives and KPIs.
Redesigns nursing care models for current and future organizational needs.
Leads the Regional Directors of Nursing Operations and other Service Line leaders in using a prioritization framework for the defined nursing operations strategies with dotted line leadership responsibilities.
Proactively identifies and explores opportunities to develop strategic approaches, ensuring that nursing operations stay up to date with industry trends and innovations.
Designs optimization of nursing workflows for efficiency, simplification of nursing work, and evaluation / recommendation of potential technology to improve the nursing work environments.
As needed, the leader will collaborate with clinical programs, shared and support services, and other departments to ensure consistency and extraordinary care and performance across the enterprise.
Researches and establishes benchmarking tools, surveys, processes and ensures alignment across the system.
Directs local nursing leadership teams, and other departments to provide resources, ensure consistent communication, and lead nursing strategic plans efforts.
Provides clear direction and performance expectations and metrics to regional leadership. Holds leaders accountable in their performance of all goals and objectives.
Required:
Demonstrated experience in nursing operations or service line leadership.
Demonstrated experience in project management, facilitating standardization/alignment across multiple areas, developing clinical strategies, implementing operational efforts, and measuring outcomes.
Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s level degree in business, healthcare or relevant area.
Experience in a leadership role requiring strong relationships and influence in a matrix environment, requiring work in a fast-paced and changing environment while handling multiple deadlines and priorities.
Five (5) years of experience in project management, facilitating standardization/alignment across multiple areas, developing clinical strategies, implementing operational efforts, and measuring outcomes.
Experience in a role requiring analytical skills and expertise in data management.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$66.41 - $102.52
