Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Critical Care, is responsible for the provision of 24 hour patient care services on assigned unit. Establishes operational systems to support the provision of quality patient care, including the management of personnel, maintenance of unit environment, equipment and supplies, and a climate for effective functioning of the healthcare team. Provides unit direction to support hospital’s mission and goals. Demonstrate the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development, and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups. Must have a working knowledge of scheduling, staffing, inventory control and budget. Is responsible for the supervision of performance improvement within the department Is expected to function with initiative and utilize independent judgement. Must be able to communicate effectively and execute actions which assure quality patient care. Must practice and role model teamwork skills in working with all members of the healthcare team. Works with other departments to collaborate and coordinate patient care activities which promote performance improvement and growth of services.

What qualifications you will need:

• Registered Nurse

• Minimum 5 years experience as a staff nurse with a minimum of two years experience in critical care.

• Previous management experience preferred.

• Evidence of leadership skill, successful interpersonal relationships.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field preferred

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support

• Basic Cardiac Life Support

In addition to ER care, both facilities give comprehensive imaging services, including computerized tomography (CT scan), Xray, and ultrasound as well as a fully-equipped medical laboratory.
