OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS STATEMENT: The Office of Admissions plays a crucial role at the college, and our oversight includes

(but is not limited to) student recruitment, application processing, and aiding through the

student enrollment process. Our office is the front-door of SLCC and we are looking for

team members that can enthusiastically engage students, families, and community

members with warmth and care. We value building relationships of trust, knowledge, and

Admissions Advising: Meet with prospective students and families to assist with steps to enrollment: admissions application, testing, new student orientation, financial aid, scholarships, transcripts, and registration assistance to facilitate a smooth transition to college. Connect students to campus resources as needed. Track all contacts with students in a recruitment database. Recruiting and Outreach: Under direct supervision of the Advisor 3- Adult Recruitment, create and execute recruitment plans and efforts to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. Initiate and maintain follow-up on contacts with community partners, adult high schools, businesses, and non-traditional populations to develop a consistent presence within key and potential areas to increase college readiness and awareness and assist in transitioning to SLCC. Contact prospects by e-mail, phone, texting, and other communication modalities to promote SLCC and assist with admissions application, transition, and enrollment process. Execute CRM communication plans through call, text, and email campaigns. Serve as a SLCC resource for adults and community agencies partners in assisting with questions and concerns regarding steps to enrollment and processes, and transition to college. Maintain up to date with current research and trends of adult education and recruitment principles as related to the recruitment of adults, non-traditional, and underrepresented communities. Keep accurate and up to date all partnership contacts within their scope.

Presentations: Deliver SLCC admissions presentations to large and small groups at adult high schools and partner agencies within the community. Participate in fairs and tabling events to promote SLCC to adult learners. Maintain a professional atmosphere that helps students feel a continued connection to SLCC. Work with all adult learner student popul ations to increase college preparation and awareness. Work independently to initiate, develop and maintain contacts with appropriate community groups in order to access adult student prospects that may increase future applications nd enrollments. Follow-up with potential applicants by conducting and staffing information sessions, designing and delivering recruitment presentations, workshops and materials. Track all recruitment events to demonstrate effectiveness and influence future participation decisions. Program Development: Actively collaborate with community partners to develop effective ways to assist prospective students with college access and college planning. Develop and plan special recruitment and outreach events. Represent the admissions office by supporting other SLCC departments in college outreach efforts. Serve on local and state committees and boards related to adult education.
