Job Title: Applications Engineer
Job Description
We are hiring a Applications Engineer for a global leader in high-precision gear manufacturing and metrology equipment. As a Applications Engineer, you will be the technical expert supporting our Gear Measuring Machines and providing essential engineering support to clients across various industries. You will play a vital role in promoting our measurement solutions, collaborating closely with the sales team, and working with development teams to expand measurement capabilities. You will also provide training and troubleshooting support, ensuring clients achieve the highest accuracy and performance with our technology.
Responsibilities
Represent our metrology products professionally to customers.
Provide in-depth technical support and engineering assistance on inspection machines.
Demonstrate measurement capabilities to existing and potential clients.
Identify and communicate new measurement requirements to the development team.
Develop new applications and procedures in partnership with software design teams.
Perform testing and validation of new or specialized measurement applications.
Create comprehensive technical documentation, instructions, and reports.
Process customer inquiries and troubleshoot software and machine issues.
Train clients and service personnel on programming and usage of our equipment.
Essential Skills
2+ years experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), ideally with gear inspection.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred degree in Metrology or equivalent).
2+ years of metrology experience.
Proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T specifications.
Excellent communication and customer-focused teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and general software management.
Willingness to travel within the U.S. and Canada (up to 40%).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing and inspection of gear components.
Work Environment
This position involves traveling up to 40 percent of the time within the US and Canada. The role is a contract to hire, with a potential for direct placement for the right candidate.
