Description Robert Half is working with a local client who has a job opening for Systems Engineers to join their team. Our Systems Engineer hire needs to become a key contributor to the maintenance and optimization of the client's network and wireless infrastructure. Major responsibilities

• Test, configure, install, and maintain application software, system management tools, and operating systems

• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

• Play a part in the design of information and operational support systems

• Deliver 2nd and 3rd level support

• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

• Oversee and follow up on all installed systems and infrastructure

• Track an assay application performance for potential bottlenecks, determine possible solutions, and collaborate with developers to achieve those fixes Requirements - Experience with automation software is required for success at this position

  • This position requires a candidate with proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems

  • Solid scripting skills

  • Experience with monitoring systems

  • It is preferred for applicants to have solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks

  • It is preferred for applicants to have solid networking knowledge

  • We are particularly looking for candidates who have experience with virtualization and containerization
