Responsibilities
The Managed Pressure Drilling Services Field Specialist III are responsible for all day-to-day operational matters, including Quality and HSE, at the rig site and at the base. This position is the focal point for rig operations and shore based personnel when mobilizing equipment and / or personnel to the rig. They are also responsible for ensuring that Managed Pressure Drilling Services personnel and equipment follow and, are in compliance with, the Weatherford policies and procedures (shop and rig) at every step.
Responsible for working in the field and in the shop. This will include but not limited to green tagging, preparing, and/or assisting with shipping equipment to job site, rig up, rig down, loading and off loading, spotting of equipment at the rig and base.
Responsible for daily communication with the clients rig site representative, client’s office, and other services companies on location. Work with the field engineer and choke operators for technical down hole knowledge and assistance.
Completes all the necessary reports/paperwork related to Managed Pressure Drilling Services operations.
Lead the Permit to Work process.
Lead the Tool Box talks on every shift change and report on WPTS.
Conduct safety meetings on the rig on every operations and daily basis
Participate in pre and post job meetings with the clients
Manage crew shifts and rotation while on the rig site
This position is responsible for all Managed Pressure Drilling Services Operation on the rig, from a technical, engineering, equipment and safety aspects
Demonstrated and applied knowledge on all hands on functions of all operations of Managed Pressure Drilling Services including rig up, operating choke manifold, full knowledge and control of the MPD Software, controls, operability, and systems, event identification and downhole theory, maintenance, operating RCD and changing RCD elements and all system’s trouble shooting
Interacts with 3rd party service providers on the rig, such as the mud loggers, mud company, MWD, and directional services, among others.
Responsible for managing and tracking inventory used and balances and sending signed job tickets to the office
Train and mentor crew members
Responsible for making sure equipment is functional and inventory lists complete before sending equipment to location as well as green tagging manifold, RCD, and other associated equipment
Follow all QHSE procedures and report any incidents
Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all Operating, Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
Oversees/ensures completion of daily preventative maintenance as per the checklist.
Responsible for all Managed Pressure Drilling Services Operations on the rig, from a technical and a safety stand point.
Have a good understanding of drilling operations and responsible to follow the Drilling Program prepared for the Client and its amendments
Responsible for all QHSE procedures of all Weatherford crew and report any incidents.
Documents all jobs and incidents in the Weatherford Performance Tracking System (WPTS).
Responsible for all logistic operations on location.
Required to complete the competency requirements identified by Global and Regional Management.
Required to complete training required to become Qualified Competency Assessor and perform competency assessments on Managed Pressure Drilling Services personnel when required.
Perform various other duties and activities within the physical constraints of the job
5-10 years related field experience related to drilling operations
3 years College degree on Engineering or relevant to Drilling Industry
