Job Title: Electrician Tech

Job Description

An Electrician installs basic electrical equipment and systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Running rigid (1.5 inch) pipe down to gear box

  • Wiring 3 way switches

  • Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, components, and devices associated with electrical equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

  • Installing and mounting electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.

  • Performing interlock wiring as required.

  • Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices.

  • Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Directing and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

  • Reading contract drawings.

  • Working with Electrical Distribution systems and wiring up to 480V.

  • Installing conduit, wireways, pulling wiring/cables, and terminating cables.

  • Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and control wiring diagrams.

Essential Skills

  • Experience as a 3rd or 4th year apprentice electrician (Electrical helper role for the past 3 or 4 years)

  • Journeyman or Master level with at least 4 years of experience

  • Commercial background with experience in 480 volts

  • Experience bending and installing rigid 1.5 inch pipe

  • Ability to perform some modifications as seen fit

  • Experience wiring

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Electrical Apprentice

  • Commercial electrician experience

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting where PPE such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety vests, and safety glasses are required. The company provides all PPE except for steel-toed boots. The shift schedule is Monday to Thursday from 5:30 am to 4 pm and Friday from 5:30 am to 1:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime. The facility is a nice manufacturing site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
