Please be aware if you are applying for this role from outside the BeNeLux (Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg), while location of the role is within the BeNeLux , if successful, your internal application will be treated as a self-initiated Change Location Outside of Country (CLOC) transfer.   

You will be eligible for relocation support in the form of economy-class flights (to NL), immigration support (if applicable), tax support (in the year of move) and a lump sum of 7.500,- euro net of taxes to be paid out during the first salary payment in the Netherlands. No further relocation support will be provided in a self-initiated CLOC.

We are currently looking for top talent to reinforce our Ice Cream Supply Chain team.

Ice Cream is a 8.5b business, currently run within Unilever. Within the next 18 months however, we will establish ourselves as a separate company: the largest Ice Cream company in the world, focused on delivering joy through our unique products.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to create value for the business by looking at the Supply Chain with a strategic, digital, future-fit and longer-term vision. The role has evolved over time to drive 3 strong strategic programs to deliver value towards Unilever and Ice Cream’s most ambitious goals, all driving the transformation agenda with an end-to-end approach:

1) Design To Value.

Full focus on the product and the market. The program focuses on holistic value creation reviewing all line items of the P&L (Raw and Pack Material, Production cost, Distribution cost, Trade spend etc.).

2) End to end Network Studies.

These are traditional Supply Chain transformation/improvement projects, focusing on network optimisation. Examples of these optimisations include consolidation of factories, distribution models and development of ecommerce/DTC channels. Typically projects extend beyond markets.

3) SC Competitor Intelligence.

A program to bring the outside in. Designing a future-fit supply chain means you need to understand, monitor, and anticipate competitors’ moves, within legal boundaries.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

As a Business partner to the Chief Product Supply Chain Officer in Ice Cream, you will be at the heart of supporting and challenging business-strategy decision making, acting as trusted advisor and leader of the programs to help the make the best possible decisions. Especially in light of the announced demerger of the Ice Cream business from Unilever, this is a unique role in a unique business context. This role will report into the Global Head of Supply Chain Strategy & Innovation.

Responsibilities

• Own relationships with senior stakeholders (WL3+) for business strategic transformation decisions to shape the future-fit Supply-chain.

• Partner with key business stakeholders within the BG/BU on their supply chain strategies.

• Generate new ideas (as well as do external research) on methodologies, frameworks, processes and tools to improve the department’s positive contribution to the company.

• Oversee projects and ensure they are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Secure impact of projects is cashed.

• Support individual and team performance through strong team orientation, coaching and

Feedback.

• Examples of existing project programs (non-exhaustive): digitizing supply chain,

manufacturing network design, make vs. buy, capital investment evaluations, complexity

cost optimisation, design to value, route-to-market, cost to serve, internal and external

benchmarking, competitive intelligence, E2E value chain analysis, etc.

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Keen to challenge status quo

  • Ability to capture customer, competitor and market insights and to translate them into relevant and implementable programs

  • Strong thought leadership & business acumen

  • Very strong data storyboarding and communication skills and proven experience in building effective relationships with senior stakeholders / influencing decision makers

  • Very strong analytical combined with pragmatic problem-solving skills

  • Passion for business strategies

  • Keen to seek for new digital enablers to drive and land a strong Supply chain transformation for fast, smarter and more efficient impact on the P&L

  • Consistent team focus, creating an environment of enthusiasm and positivity

  • Good communication skills with ability to lead, influence, and inspire others

  • Work and build rapport with stakeholders across functions and seniority, in a multicultural environment

EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE

• 10 years industry experience, including strategic/business development roles (FMCG and/or Consultancy)

• Experience in digital strategy and new digital business model development in a leading corporate or in supply chain and operations is an advantage

• Proven work experience as a project manager with a bias for action, leading cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment

• A solid understanding of cost accounting, financial accounting and project management

• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including long-term stay (up to 3 weeks at a time) across different parts of the world
