Responsibilities Sales Account Manager Responsibilities: 1. Manages the process of selling multiple product lines to OEM accounts. 1.1 Maintains the flow of information regarding products and pricing from the company to Horton customers, using direct mail, telephone calls and personal visits. 1.2 Provides feedback to company staff regarding customer perceptions and needs, focusing upon those areas where improvements that will enhance sales can be made. 1.3 Persuades customers to choose Horton products on the basis of overall value in terms of design, quality, service and price. Negotiates prices that will allow for long-term relationships that are profitable. 1.4 Maintains customer data files, updating information as changes occur. 1.5 Frequently visits client locations to discuss needs and to observe product applications, in order to gather the information needed by engineering for product improvements and to identify applications that are candidates for use of Horton products. 1.6 Concentrates on retaining existing clients by taking action to ensure their satisfaction with service, quality and price. 2. Identifies new customers for Horton products. 2.1 Develops contact with firms that are active in the diesel vehicle OEM market in order to identify potential customers. 2.2 Attends trade shows and demonstrates to potential customers the technical merits of company products. 3. Develops personal relationships with client staff. 3.1 Creates social opportunities for interaction with client staff in order to build a relationship of trust and open communication. 3.2 Makes satisfaction of customers a personal priority, acting as an advocate for customer interests when issues of service or performance arise. 3.3 Combats client negative experiences by using relationships to communicate with clients and resolve problems before they result in loss of sales. 4. Provides input on design opportunities through frequent dialogue with company technical staff. 4.1 Shares client technical needs with design staff in order to focus upon those design changes or new products which are needed and are likely to sell. * Interviews clients with an objective of identifying technical preferences in areas such as service and installation ease. 5. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Sales Account Manager Qualifications: The position requires skills and knowledge consistent with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent and four or more years of re ated OEM sales experience; transportation industry experience preferred. Position requires up to 60% travel, domestic and some international. Note: equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education.
