Machine Operator Slitter Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator Slitter Technician to join our team. This role involves working from 6:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday and from 6:00am to 10:00am on Friday. The ideal candidate will have setup experience and preferably have operated Converting equipment such as a TARP machine or Slitter Machine. Responsibilities include converting materials using several different machines, applying PSA, slitting material to width, and preparing material for additional machine centers.
Responsibilities
Convert materials using several different machines.
Apply PSA, slit material to width, and prepare material for additional machine centers.
Load and unload materials using a hand-operated loader.
Set up machines with proper PSA, heat settings, and roller pressure to ensure proper PSA.
Measure and set slitting blades to proper widths using a tape measure or micrometer.
Perform other machine operations as directed by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
2+ years of prior material converting experience.
Experience setting up machines and using a tape measure.
Ability to use both metric and standard dimensions.
Proficiency with TARP machines, Slitter machines, micrometers, and converting equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-5 years of machine operation experience.
Previous experience with converting equipment such as TARP machines is strongly preferred.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
Attention to detail and good attendance history.
Ability to follow written and verbal communication.
Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs and team lift 50+ lbs.
Work Environment
Our work environment is a well-lit, clean shop that is not temperature controlled. We use fans to maintain comfort during the summer months. We currently operate two shifts: 1st shift from 6:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Thursday, and from 6:00am to 10:00am on Friday, and 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 1:00am Monday through Thursday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
