Work Shift:Job Description:Analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, spearheads project and cross functional collaboration to successful outcomes. Develops and deploys reports and analytics to guide supply chain planning and decision making. RESPONSIBILITIES:Drive continuous improvement utilizing problem-solving skills and toolsSome day and overnight travel to suppliers and/or company facilitiesException Identification (pro actively identify parts that needs to be expedited)Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely mannerProcess non-conforming material reports (NCMR's) in a timely mannerInitiate engineering inquiries and as appropriate submit formal ECN requestsblanket purchase order (BPO) analysis, set-up, maintenance and distribution of new BPO'sPro-actively conduct analysis to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce costsProvide forecast data to key suppliers to support deliveries within required lead-timesInitiate, review and analyze supplier price quotationsWork with Finance to take advantage of early payment discounts.Provide regular performance feedback to assigned preferred, qualified or approved suppliers and assure close-out of corrective action requests.Resolve escalated issues between Gorbel and suppliers.Possess relevant technical commodity skills to be seen as credible by peers and managersParticipate in cross functional make vs. buy decisions and provide recommendationsInform, convince and persuade others to action on key commodity strategy initiatives/objectivesSupport special projects related to product launches and other supply chain initiativesAchieve excellent results in annual cost improvement, supplier quality/delivery, supplier lead times/minimum order quantities, supplier consolidation and contract coverage with minimal supervisionREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:College Degree or 2 to 10 years of equivalent experienceStrong Microsoft suite business AcumenExperience with lean/continuous improvement tools and programsExcellent communication skillsIndependent judgment and demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervisionPrior supply chain (purchasing, buying, planning, materials) experience preferredERP Experience requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT:ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace RequirementsOccasional lifting up to 25 lbs.Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of timePrimary work environment is professional corporate officeGorbel is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
