Job Description:

As a member of the Mechanical Product Support Engineering (PSE) team, the candidate will collaborate with engineers within the factory (JROC) providing mechanical design changes of existing, production-released products in support of manufacturability improvements, resolution of supply chain issues, and cost reduction activities. Design skills will be applied to robust electronic packaging solutions for products engineered and tested to MIL-STD-810 environmental standards. Candidate shall have strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and time-management skills, coupled with a passion for solving complex problems through innovation. Additionally, the candidate will be a conduit in communicating lessons learned back to the product development teams through active participation in mechanical peer reviews.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide onsite mechanical design support for existing products, associated with production improvement activities.

  • Apply GD&T to part drawings.

  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.

  • Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECOs) as required.

  • Work directly with mechanical engineers on CAD models and part documentation.

  • Apply creative thinking to resolve design challenges.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years or prior related Engineering experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related Engineering experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in the use of 3D CAD (PTC Creo 3D CAD)

  • Preferred experience in design of electronic equipment. Secondary experience in design of industrial equipment or automotive components.

  • Strong communication skills and enjoys working with other people, developing relationships, and sharing knowledge

  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D.

  • Defense/Military electronics packaging experience.

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 environmental standards.

  • Experience in performing tolerance stack-up analysis.

  • Time management skills

  • Eligible to obtain a US Government Secret Security Clearance if required.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $58,500- $108,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
