The primary purpose of this position is to serves as an Administrative Support Specialist providing direction, assistance and support for operations and activities of the Software Directorate. Assists with the detailed planning relating to a variety of management projects, issues and initiatives. Coordinates a variety of projects and taskings on behalf of the director. Responsibilities As an Administrative Support Specialist and advisor to the group/wing/directorate, assists with development, implementation, operation and provision of the organization's administrative and management functions. Advises on the management of operations, programs, and affairs of the organization. Serves as focal point for development, coordination, and consolidation of group-level inputs for the Directorate, Air Force Sustainment Center, and higher headquarters briefings, reports, policies, and publications. Provide technical and administrative assistance to organizational management and support personnel on issues of program administration and process improvement. Exercises delegated authority to assist with overseeing administrative and management operations/projects, including, planning, direction and timely execution of support administrative programs, program segments, for group/wing/directorate approval as necessary, assuring compliance with all applicable guidance and direction. Develop/recommend administrative changes in response to mission requirements or other legislated changes. Exercises support authority to enter into agreements and make decisions on behalf of group/wing/directorate, while representing the group/wing/directorate at formal and informal meetings and conferences, covering a wide variety of installation management, operational, and administrative matters. Preview personnel actions, including performance evaluations and decorations. Organize/execute special events and ceremonies and act as an interface with Base associate units. Promote safety and health in the workplace through awareness and compliance with safety rules, regulations and best practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. General Experience is described as experience demonstrating the ability to: assists with development, implementation, operation and provision of the organization's administrative and management functions; providing technical and administrative assistance to organizational management and support personnel on issues of program administration and process improvement; preparing letters, reports, briefings, speeches, or summaries, and other correspondence; demonstrating skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues, as appropriate; completing work project/program objectives; ability to apply a wide variety of procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to initiatives and projects in the Installation administrative, management and support work of group/wing/directorate including the ability to maintain credibility with other on technical matters. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge and ability to apply a wide variety of procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to initiatives and projects in the Installation administrative, management and support work of group/wing/directorate including the ability to maintain credibility with other on technical matters. 2. Knowledge relative to organizational structure, function, and mission. 3. Knowledge and skill in conducting program studies and requirement review. 4. Skill and ability to assist, coach, mentor and motivate within a team concept; w/ability to adapt style to a variety of situations and incorporate high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect to daily endeavors. 5. Skill and technical ability to conduct research, analyze a wide variety of programs/policies/procedures, evaluate program effectiveness/efficiency, recognize problems/weaknesses/constraints and impacts on other programs, summarize results, make appropriate recommendations/changes and develop short term administrative and management support plans. 6. Knowledge and skill in the interpretation, application and implementation of JCFS, DOD, AF, AFMC and local instructions, concepts, procedures, guidance and policy, concerning numerous Installation missions, operations and programs. 7. Knowledge of Installation level, HQ and other major tenant missions and operations, sufficient to develop, evaluate and implement a variety of efficient and effective support programs. 8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally in writing, provides accurate and effective staff summary analysis and briefings/presentations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
