Job Title: Distribution Engineer - PermittingJob Description
We are currently seeking Engineers to join our power distribution team in Tampa, within our permitting group. This role supports power distribution design and engineering for major power utility clients. The permitting team collaborates closely with the design team, researching permitting requirements for numerous municipalities in Florida, performing quality assurance activities on construction plans, and developing permitting packages for some of the largest power utility companies in the US. This work involves the use of Autocad and other proprietary power utility software.
Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
Produce client deliverables such as permit research packages or permit packages using Autocad and other software.
Perform quality assurance activities, such as proofing data collection and research reports.
Support the utility relocation team with engineering calculations and design for relocating power distribution poles and underground power distribution for roadway widening and improvement projects.
Assist with engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.
Experience with Autocad version 2019 or more recent.
Ability to work in a team environment closely with peers, project managers, and field personnel.
Good documentation and communication skills to work with clients and other industry professionals.
Strong organizational, time management, analytical, observational, and active listening skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with other software such as BOUD, MyWorld, SEDS, and CPA is a plus.
Must be able to perform field data collection duties periodically, including taking measurements in the field.
Work Environment
Work is performed at the Riverview office. The Tampa office is a new 19,000 sqft space, featuring amenities such as a foosball table and shuffleboard. The environment is highly positive, with an engaged team and supportive leadership. The position offers a long-term opportunity to support one of the largest power utilities in the country and contribute to a program that will significantly improve the reliability of power distribution across the Southeastern United States. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
