Position Summary:

The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting packages and commissary itesm to and from the Northern Store Locations ranging from North Salt Lake to Richmond. Their duties include loading parcels into their vehicle, using a navigation system to map their route and delivering parcels to the correct stores. This position is a fast-paced (within the speed limit) job that requires creative thinking and meeting of tight deadlines. This is a great opportunity for a current team member looking to add diversity to their job to add a few more hours to their schedule on Wednesdays and Fridays!

Primary Position Duties:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fulfill store needs, like product pickups

• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays

• Use navigation applications to determine the best route

• Interact with team members, leadership, and guests professionally at all times

• Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use

• Packages to and from destinations

• Arrive at destinations on schedule

• Keep mileage records and repair records up to date

• Operation of a delivery truck or van in a safe, efficient manner

• Delivery of packages/products to end user within a particular area.

Guest Service:

• Greet and assist guests, store teams, and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.

• Provide knowledgeable answers to guest, team, and vendor inquiries.

• Answer telephone inquiries; take messages; return telephone messages as needed.

Product Handling:

• Assist with the planning, scheduling, and execution of proper product transportation.

• Ensure product freshness by packing, transporting, and storing items properly.

• Assist with the loading and unloading of products in manger that maintains quality standards.

Cleanliness and Safety:

• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle, inside and out.

• Follow all safety protocol procedures during the loading and unloading of product.

• Follow all laws, including speed limit, while operating company or personal vehicle for work related transports.

• Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to management.

Team Collaboration:

• Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals.

• Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.

• Provides a safe, clean, and positive environment; and consistently builds and supports a culture that is based on relationships and continuous improvement.

• Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members.

• Coordinates with the Store Director for the training of all team members involved with the deliver processes in their store.

• Provides a professional example for other team members to follow.

• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

• Assist other departments as needed.

• Work in a fast-paced, sometimes crowded, sales environment with tact and patience

Position Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, twist, sit, and bend for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Manual dexterity for handling small objects and operating equipment.

• Repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance.

• Occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl.

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.

• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the store.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

• Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting repeatedly.

• Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders are required.

Availability:

• 8:00am-6:00pm-Flexible availability on Wednesdays and Fridays.

• 4-10 hrs/wk

• Trucks, transits and vehicles

• Basic Computer use

• Blades, Slicers, Knives, Box Cutter Knives

• Any other tools and machinery seen fit for role.

Education or Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

• Previous experience in retail or guest service (preferred).

• A valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience to perform the job safely

• Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find delivery locations

• Time management and organizational skills to keep track of deliveries and stay on schedule

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients

• Physical stamina and good upper body strength to lift heavy luggage, packages and objects, as well as be able to load and unload them from their vehicle
