APTIM Sr. Project Controls Analyst in Remote, United States
Job Overview:
This position located at the Fort Greely project site and will provide the Project Team with a responsive resource whose expertise meets the needs of the project: accurate cost control, forecasting, and scheduling while contributing to the overall project profitability. The Project Controls Scheduler will provide accurate and timely production, productivity, scheduling, and cost information, which allows the Project Manager and Client to be proactive towards, cost control and scheduling. Project Controls professionals are APTIM's advocates for cost and schedule control through the consistent application of systems and procedures thereby ensuring compliance with the project budget and schedule constraints while maximizing returns to the corporation.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Maintain a certified Earned Value Management System (EVMS) that is compliant with ANSI/EIA-748 guidelines and initiate the Implementation plan.
Maintain the project Earned Value System Description document and applicable EV project procedures.
Provide WBS, Cost Code and Funding direction to all affected personnel (Senior Management, Area Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs), Project Controls Engineers, and other support personnel) to assure that they are sufficiently knowledgeable of EVMS requirements, processes, and procedures to execute their work scope in full compliance with contractual requirements.
Analyze monthly budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.
Lead the billing process to ensure timely and accurate charges on the project and facilitate meetings with the client project team to obtain approval.
Consult with managers to ensure that budget adjustments are made in accordance with program changes.
Direct the preparation of budget / estimates at complete as well as periodic project forecasts.
Examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations.
Interpret budget directives and establish policies for carrying out directives.
Provide advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation in response to client's requests and needs.
Review operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs.
Seek new ways to improve efficiency and increase profits.
Summarize budgets and submit recommendations for the approval or disapproval of funds requests.
Promotes teamwork; coaches and guides others.
Maintain excellent communication to clients, executives and project team members
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field (Business, Engineering, Construction) with 10 years' experience or 15 years' experience in the industry in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Advanced skills within Microsoft Excel.
Experience in performing, monitoring and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
Skilled in oral and written communication of financial analysis.
Familiarity with government contract reporting and FAR standards.
Must possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Contruent (formerly Ares Prism) or similar cost processing software.
Experience with InEight Estimating Software is a plus.
Previous Earned Value Management System experience
Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Ideal candidate will also possess:
Certification in scheduling, EVMS or cost control.
Experience in both Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Acumen Fuse.
Methodical, analytical and focused approach to work procedures.
