About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Financial Operations to oversee our global financial operations function. The VP, Financial Operations will, to start, operate in an independent oversight role, providing guidance and direction to global teams, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of all financial transactions across the organization. With a focus on continuous improvement and strategic development, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our operations. Candidates for this role must have a risk-oriented mindset, with the ability and desire to assess all financial operations from the perspective of risk mitigation as a top priority.

While this is a fully remote role, the successful candidate must be based in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct Financial Operations globally (crypto, stablecoin, fiat), fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.

• Primary Financial Operations lead for Zero Hash Europe B.V. (based in The Netherlands)

• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic vision for the Financial Operations function, aligning it with overall business objectives.

• Independently oversee all aspects of daily operations for Zero Hash Europe B.V, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and adherence to best practices.

• Lead functional risk management of all Financial Operations (crypto, stablecoin, fiat).

• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, risk mitigation, cost reduction, and technological innovation.

• Manage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration.

• Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring regulatory, legal, and audit compliance.

• Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure business continuity in case of disruptions.

• Analyze operational data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.

  Requirements

• 12+ years' experience in Financial Operations and/or Treasury Operations at regulated financial services firms (FinTech, banking, payments, lending, broker dealer, crypto).

• Experience directing global financial operations, ideally including digital asset settlement and custody.

• Extensive knowledge of traditional banking and payment products globally, such as ACH, RTP, demand-deposit accounts, SEPA, Faster Payments, etc.

• Experience working with major FinTech banking / payments service providers such as Plaid, FIS, Galileo, Marqeta, etc.

• Relevant experience in risk management, fraud, chargebacks, and compliance in the banking and/or payments space.

• Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.

• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts with engineering teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, concise, and actionable tasks.

• Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and tools, particularly Jira.

• Experience in implementing policies and procedures to comply with new legal, regulatory, and/or audit requirements including coordination with core Finance functions to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  Preferred

• Expertise in card product operations; familiarity with Visa, Mastercard platforms.

• Experience work at or with EU regulated financial institutions

• Experience in one or more ERP systems, a plus (NetSuite (preferred), Oracle Cloud ERP, Sage Intacct, SAP ERP, Microsoft Dynamics).
