Responsibilities

This Software Engineer II position would be great for someone who is interested in online services, cloud computing, and user experience, loves to work in an agile development team, embraces and solves new technological challenges, passionate about building effective software and continuously improving the development process, and working collaboratively in a team environment.

You will have ample opportunities to participate in all stages of our engineering lifecycle - from initial research and discovery, quick iteration on promising concepts, solution prototyping, and development, all the way through successful service rollout and Live Site support. Your voice and ideas are valuable and will be heard.

We are a fast-growing and dynamic team. You will have opportunities to make a positive impact and obtain valuable experience in designing, building, and maintaining a distributed system for content publishing, ingestion, and delivery. We use REST, Web API, Azure Service fabric, ASP.Net Core, Azure Containers etc. This position is fairly collaborative – requires working with many partner teams, learning and understanding how to use their technology.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of professional hands-on experience developing web apps with React, ideally with active participation in open-source projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with web technologies, such as JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS, HTML React, TypeScript, RESTful API, ASP.NET, Web API, NodeJS, etc.

  • Experience in architecting, building, and maintaining UX component libraries that adhere to modern web standards.

  • Prior experience in shipping products across multiple product cycles.

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming.

  • Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, and maintaining online services.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud computing platforms. Familiar with Azure Active Directory concepts.

  • Experience in AI technologies: Azure Machine Learning and LLMs, Azure cognitive or AI search, text embeddings and vector search, PromptFlow and Chatbots, tools for AI model deployment and monitoring, etc.

  • Passion for building great experiences for real customer and partner business scenarios.

  • Ability to collaborate within and across teams effectively.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
