Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC Engineer Sr 1 in Raymond, Ohio

Conduct hands-on performance testing such as developing unique requirements on system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product acceptance. Support maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly.  Direct selected suppliers to design and manage component to maturation schedule requirements.  Write clear and concise reports, presentations, and/or technical documents to make records of development activities and communicate directly with Technical Experts.  Recognize and specify critical functional (hardware, software, & communication) requirements for infotainment system components to match customer demands. Develop, write, and issue specification requirements for system components. Analyze and interpret test results, predicting performance/failure and providing requirement product/design data. Effectively communicate development schedule and report status of component functions to different company areas/departments. Research and influence future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods. Assess marketplace demands with a competitive viewpoint of infotainment system component requirements. Propose, develop, and justify new functions (hardware, electrical, software, HMI, etc.) to meet market requirements.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Eng., Electronics Eng., Mechatronics Eng., Comp. Sci., or Digital Systems; 3 yrs relevant professional exp; 3 yrs exp using CANalyzer tools to diagnose and troubleshoot network communication; 3 yrs exp using general electrical measurement tools (multi-meter, oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer) to diagnose hardware functions; 3 yrs exp in recording waveforms through different types of measurement devices using an oscilloscope; 3 yrs exp in using multi-meter to take impedance, voltage, and current measurements in a repeatable and consistent manner; 3 yrs exp in leading system verifications (technical evaluation of unit development) and assessing development progress and any concerns; 3 yrs exp in performing bench testing or testing on vehicles; 3 yrs exp in tracking concern items found and leading projects towards resolution schedule, implementing technical root cause identification methods (e.g., FTA or FMEA), and negotiating a compromised spec; and 3 yrs exp in correlating information of unit development activities and specification implementation to Sales, Service, and Manufacturing.  Telecommuting Optional - May work from any location in Ohio subject to company hybrid work policy.
